As the dust settles from the awesomeness that was S.P.A.C.E. (HA! As of today, I am totally sold out of my 1st print run of BLINK: SO FAR! How cool is that?!), I am preparing my next step(s) in my "grand scheme" to actually get people to read the Blink comic book.
I'm currently gearing up for the 2011 Gem City Comic Con in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday, April 3rd and will be going to get more Blink: So Far Convention Special Editions printed up (at my local printer) for the Gem City Comic Con while at the same time I am working towards (hopefully) having digest editions of BSF shipped to my studio by April 2nd. That way, I can have them both for the Sunday show (but at this point in time, this is just a hope and nowhere near a promise). I find it interesting that some people really like the "magazine-sized" printing of BSF and other people prefer the digest version (which still hasn't been released-- but stay tuned!).
The show is being held at Wright State University in the Student Union and runs from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm on Sunday and sports the nominal entrance fees: $6.00 (adults), $5.00 (students with valid ID) and Kids 10 & Under are FREE!! (with paying adult) Guests will include such industry luminaries as STEVE ENGLEHART and BOB McLEOD, members of the other Columbus comics creators' group, PANEL, DARA NARAGHI and ANDY BENNETT and a few friends o' mine (and great comixers) ERIC ADAMS and FRANK CVETKOVIC and LOTS, LOTS MORE!
Let `em know you're coming by RSVP'ing on the Facebook Event page here.
(Fun Fact: Dayton, Ohio -- which is where the GCCC is being held-- used to be advertised as "The Gem City, the Cleanest City in America" back in the 1950s, 60s and into the 70s. I wonder if the reason they stopped in the 80's was because it was no longer fashionable to be clean?)
